Guest guest
Way to go! It's nice to see so many pre-ops having the chutzpah to read 's disparaging words and then make the decision to denounce the whole thing. There are nearly a thousand of us now, (i.e. MGB post-ops), and it's nearly laughable, if not so serious, to think all of our research was wrong and Dr. R is some snake-oil salesman who's going to go smiling into the sunset as we all wither and die. My primary care physician, a well seasoned internal medicine specialist and former Mayo Clinic intern/resident, continues to monitor my progress and critique the entire situation. He couldn't be more pleased with our decision for me to have WLS and specifically the MGB. The alkaline vs. acid based ulcerations are not factual. Her information is skewed, taken out of context and misrepresented. It appears she's grasping at straws to explain her own lack of compliance and inability to make better food and exercise choices. Deb, and other pre-ops please continue to investigate and make your own decisions as to which procedure is best for you. Also, look at the numbers, Dr. R's statistics, the safety, the recovery, the success rates, the contacts and their replies. As you all are aware anything a post-op gives back to the list or to a pre-op or in a support group meeting is only because they wish to. There is no payment, no discounts, no other incentive to report anything pro or con about Dr. R or the procedure. For this reason I would think the group and contacts would be a great indicator of the side effects and successes of the procedure. Take care and continued good luck!
