I think we are very similar. When my duct is open, I have no pain, can eat

most anything, and function normally. When it is closed, I usually am in

tremendous pain, have lots of flare-up attacks and hospitalization.

I hope he can pack 3 stents in also, and then I can go quite awhile. Dr.

Lehman is so optimistic. He does always say the stenting could last 10 years

(but realistically a year or so).. I got 11 months out of the last big stent job

in Dec. 2003.

I pray for no more damage anytime I get an attack. I have been VERY lucky so

far, to not have ever had a cyst or much calcification.

W.

thank- you so much for your encouraging words about stenting and Dr. Lehman.

Yes, I do have great faith in him. Your words helped me so much to realize

that I DO need to have the stents. I just pray that he is more successful this

time than he was in April - he only could get one stent in.

Yes, I will have e-mail access, so will try and post Sat. or Sun. and let you

know how I am doing.

Send positive thoughts to Indiana Friday a.m. at 8:30 - thanks.

Hello-

Well, not much luck on the pancreas ERCP. Dr. Lehman was able to get one size

bigger stent in - from a 6 to a 7. He needs to get up to a 20 to make any

difference! At this rate, I will need to come back once a month until it is up

to 20 - pretty costly for me to do that!

It seems that I need to consider the Puestow surgery for in the spring. I may

meet with the surgeon next week and discuss it with him. ANy information on

this surgery would be MUCH appreciated!

I am in pain - typical. I'm taking Oxycontin 20 mg. 2xday and vicodin for

break-through 500 mg every four hours.

Cecelia,

here's the site for Hopkin's GI section on the Peustow Surgery.

Hope this answers some of your questions regarding it and I also hope

you hear from some people who've had it done too.

http://hopkins-gi.nts.jhu.edu/pages/latin/templates/index.cfm?pg=disease3 & organ=\

4 & disease=24 & lang_id=1 & pagetype=12 & pagenum=263

If the link doesn't work, copy and paste the whole string, including any

text that wraps to the next line.

I hope tht your pain goes dowsn soon. If you do have the surgery, let

us know where to send cards, okay?
