Chicken Soup Question

Hi all, I did something kind of stupid and I just wanted to ask if it's ok. I

made the chicken soup for the first time about a week ago, and I put it in the

freezer. However, I was in a hurry and I put it in when it was still very warm

(which wasn't good for my freezer and the few things that were in it that

defrosted a bit, and I had to throw out). Anyway, after it finally cooled down

and then froze in there, I realized that since I didn't cool it down enough, I

didn't get a chance to skim off the fat that rises to the top when its cool. I

can see it frozen on the top now. Can I just skim it off as I defrost each

individual serving, when I'm ready to use them, or should chicken fat not be

frozen?

I hope I don't have to throw it all out and start again, but I will if I should.

I know this sounds like a silly question, but I've never made soup or stock

before.

Thanks,

Lora

I think you can just skim it off as you defrost. Don't worry, this isn't such

huge mistake. :)
