Guest guest
Hi , Stones or sludge can be passed but they will show up in your bowel movement - not your urine (at least that is how I remember my anatomy / physiology class). You can get crystals in your urine from things that you eat and from other conditions (high uric acid in your blood for example of one type). Some crystals are just normal, some are not - so I would mention this to your doctor and maybe a complete urinalysis will be done. Having an oil slick on your urine I am not sure about - I hope you are not getting protein in your urine. Is it very very foamy? If so, you definitely need to tell the doc about this as it may mean that your kidneys need looking at. Oil in your BM can be a result of what is going on with your pancreas - the fat malabsorption can cause oily stools - that are also hard to flush because they float (and they usually have a really awful smell too). But so much of this is a " who knows " thing, that is why it is best to mention things to your doc. The worse that can happen is that he / she laughs at you (lol) Laurie
Guest guest
Hello , I think that gallbladder stones can not pass thru urinary tract, but kidney stones can. Yes, my hubby have had kidney stones for years and sometimes it pass out thru urination. Sometimes are a little bit painful. My grandma had gall stones and had to remove the organ. I know that there's certain medication that help to dissolve the gall stones but I think that it's impossible to pass it thru urination. I can be wrong. But the way I think it's good idea talk to your doctor. If you're having kidney stones, you must check it. About the oil, I really don't know. All the best, Liane you wrote: I know this question is kind of an odd one....but there have been two instances where when I have gone to flush the toilet after urination, I have noticed some small " crystal-like " (almost like pieces of glass or sand) in the toilet bowl. I have a black toilet so it shows up at the bottom of the bowl. Can stones coming from the biliary tract and/or pancreas be passed thru urination? Also, and I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this one already but I'm going to ask anyway. Sometimes when I urinate I notice almost like an oil slick in the water in the toilet....this happens on number 2 as well. I would appreciate any answer to this I can get. Should I be telling my doc about this? thanks
Guest guest
Hi ; I hope your feeling better. I know that you have already had one response but I wanted to add my 2 cents. It is physically impossible for the biliary tract to interact with the urinary tract. If it did you would be extrememely ill, if alive at all. You are passing some small kidney stones. The irritation you feel urinating is the stones or gravel passing through your urethra. Kidney stones are not uncommon but you seriously need to discuss with your doc as they can worsen or improve on their own. People often confuse pancreatic pain with kidney pain as the two organs are in the sdame general area of the body and the pain will radiate much the same. Kidney pain, however, does not have the same digestive symptoms we find with the panc. Pylonephritis, an infection in the kidney, can make you very sick but is treated well with antibiotics. Please call your doc right away and in the meantime drinks lots of water. I hope you are feeling better. Warmly,

(snip)and my husband is constantly scolding me that I don't drink enough water. (snip) Another question, can pancreatic problems cause you to feel dehydrated? I always seem to have a dry mouth but maybe it's the result of some med I'm on. , When reading your post to I saw your question about the pancreas becoming dehydrated. It's true that it's very important to keep the pancreas well hydrated, a good rule of thumb is to take your weight and drink half of your weight in ounces each day. For example, if you weight 140, you would need to drink 70 ounces of water a day to keep the pancreas well hydrated. Our meds, too, can cause hydration and that dry mouth feeling. So it could be either one that's bothering you, and the easiest solution is to keep drinking LOTS and LOTS of water! The water would also help with flushing anything through your system more rapidly...good to do if you're experiencing kidney stones or anything else. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
