Guest guest
Hello again! I too have often reacted to fresh fruit even though it is normal to point to fats as the main culprit. I am fine with bananas and even apples...usually.....but anything acidic can play havoc. Strawberries (my favourite) and plums are a definite no-no for me. Yet I'm sure it's the pancreas, not stomach or duodenum, which are affected. CP can be diagnosed on symptoms alone but often isn't! The problem is that definite visual signs often do not start very early in the development of the disease. For example, I was having horrible, frequent flare-ups in the mid 1980's and was in some sort of pain in- between for about 98% of the time. A CT scan in 1988 still showed no damage, as such, to the pancreas. Again symtpoms of CP can be similar to those of other conditions. Only last year did they discover, in a new CT scan, that I had an atrophied pancreas and extensive calcifications throughout the pancreas. With good wishes, Fliss (UK)
