Well Kristy is heading back into hospital early Dec for sinus

surgery, not even two years since her last. I can't remember who

started talking about it on here but thanks so much for the idea of

Pulmozyme via a mask instead of a mouthpiece. Kristy's doctor

agreed to this, however, it doesn't seem to have been of much

benefit to date, I guess her sinuses are just too clogged up. Added

to that she feels nauseous constantly (probably due to post nasal

drip) and has had some episodes of reflux too....all new to her!

Kristy's biggest fear atm is being placed in a specific ward in the

hospital (she's much more concerned about this than the surgery)

after a rather negative experience there in the past. Have any

other parents here experienced this type of thing with their

children? I would also add I was with Kristy in this ward and I

was the one who asked for us to be moved....so I also have

conflicting feelings about it. I think it's great they have a

special ward for 12 - 18 year olds, but there is a huge degree of

age difference/maturity there and Kristy is a very young 13. I have

discussed this briefly with the clinic nurse and she suggested

Kristy talk to their psychologist whilst in hospital..they will

attempt to place her in a different ward too this time

When we have gone in for sinus surgeries we go in as out patient. We never

have had to stay over night. Deb A

I am sorry to hear about this . Please make sure you give us her address

when she does go in . Cards might help a wee bit as she recovers.

I hold her in my special thoughts.
