Hi

My son has been in his helmet since June 2008 (coming up to 6 months)

and at our last appointment on Thursday we were told that as he

approaches his first birthday we should be prepared that his head isn't

going to change anymore. Unfortunately, there hasn't been much change

in the last 5 months - my son is a very slow grower (he weighs 18lbs,

9oz as of yesterday, he'll be 1 year tomorrow). They wanted to make

that our last appointment but I managed to get one more next month.

I've also decided to keep his helmet on even after they've said its too

late. It can't do any harm to keep it on can it (for another more or

two?). I was told that, on average, by 12 months of age the shape of

the head is permanent. If that's really just an average then its

possible my son could still have even a little bit of change at 13

months, isn't it?

just wondering if anyone has any experience with any of this situation?

thanks,

Marina
