Guest guest
As some of you know I have just been to Paris for a week, with the girls I look after. Talk about jet lag... We went to a wedding there, which I have to say was really amazing. In was in the grounds of a chateau, just outside Paris. There was a large " marquee " in the grounds, made of plastic, and decorated with boughs and flowers and candles. Outside the grounds were studded with little candles in glasses. It was at night so this was very effective. we took most of the day getting ready -hairdressers, manicurists make up people... we left the house at about 10.00 pm, arrived at 10.45. The cake was surounded by roses frozen in blocks of ice, soumds odd but looked WONDERFUL. There ware sofas, armchairs and low tables around the marquee, great dishes of Belgian chocolates scattered around. The music was excellent, some of the best singers in the Arabic world. Waiters came round with drinks, tea, arabic coffee, little goodies which tasted out of this world.. The bride and groom came in at around 11.15 - she wore Givenchy and looked stunning. Actually everyone looked pretty good. I was happy to see friends I had not seen for some time, so it was good to catch up on gossip. Dinner was at around 2.00 am and was just so delicious, for example the first course was creamed fresh pea soup, with scallops, served in bowls made of ice!! Then there was a prawn ravioli with a delicious sauce - everything was delicious, there were 4 desserts - a millefeuille with fresh rasberries and cream, some sorbets to name but two. Fortunately I merely tasted these!! Then there was dancing, and breakfast was served at 6.30 am! We left at 7.30 am and arrived home at around 8.30 am feeling very odd in full evening dress amongst all the Parisiens going to work!!! I was able to keep awake because my body was still on LA time!! Also I drank lots of coffee which I don't usually! Mind you I have felt fairly shattered ever since!!!! I thoroughly enjoyed myself -I have known both the bride and groom since they were 6 years old, also it was extremely well done. I am also happy to report that I am well, only minor problems. My breathing is really good at the moment which is the main thing for me, so I have taken courage and reduced from 5.00mg pred to 2.5 a day. I may not be able to keep at that level, but I am jolly well going to try!! Also the rheumy prescribed Meridia as I have been putting on weight, and have lost 10 lbs and my blood sugars have improved drastically. Hope my feeling well can rub off on some of you!!Lol, Love Liz __________________________________________________
