Guest guest
My cousin runs this farm single handed. I have no $$ interest. Summer may be interested in reading how the livestock is raised since she also raises livestock. Rancho de Milagros has fresh naturally raised pastured heritage premium pork for sale. The pork is much more moist and flavourful than supermarket meat. It's different because the pigs are raised the old-fashioned way. The pigs are raised outdoors in the fresh air and sunshine, with plenty of room to roam and root. Their diet is entirely organic and consists of alfalfa, weeds and roots that grow on the farm, chemical free dried ground grains and tons of organic apples and plums. They are raised without the use of antibiotics or hormones. The pigs are Red Wattle/Gloucester Old Spot crosses, old-fashioned breeds in danger of extinction. It may seem odd to use these breeds for pork because they are so rare, but they will not survive unless a market for these animals can be created. Breeders can then afford to expand their herds and expand the population. Because the pigs are a heritage breed it takes a little longer to raise them but they are extremely moist, juicy and flavourful. The meat is some of the most savory, succulent meat you can buy. The mouth-watering aroma coming from the kitchen while it's cooking makes you thankful for good food! You simply cannot buy this pork pleasure at the supermarket! There are 4 half pigs for sale: Each half pig has approximately 20 pork chops, a roast, 1 fresh ham or ham steaks, 6 lbs of fresh bacon slab, 2 lbs of spare ribs, 8lbs of ground pork, pork cutlets, etc., totalling about 60-70lbs in the freezer. Everything is wrapped by the butcher in portions for a family of two and you'll get great meat in familiar cuts like those from the market. Each half pig is $375 in advance, delivered to your door within two weeks. If this seems like a lot of meat, split the order with a friend. Happy cooking and tasting!
