how to tell if a food is bothering you?

I'm finding it really hard to pinpoint my trouble foods. I've had UC

for 5 years and I still have no idea what irritates me.. I think

carrots bother me but I'm not entirely sure.

Anyone have some hints for what to look for? like how long after I eat

a food should I feel it's negative effects? or does it just not work

like that? My stomach is inflammed right now so I guess no matter what

I eat it's going to hurt a little bit, but I'm just so clueless when it

comes to recognizing what I can and can't eat. Any help will be a life

saver cause I'm feeling lost.
