Guest guest
You know I have a little bit of a problem with the idea of loosing all of my hair. I guess it has always been my " security blanket " . It has been the only thing that I have felt is pretty about me. How do you prepare to give that up? I don't know. I guess that is something I will have to come to terms with. I wonder if you take extra vitamins or get B12 shots or something if that it will help. My father in law is a retired surgeon and he seems to think if I took B12 shots that I would have a better chance not loosing my hair. I haven't ask Dr. R. yet but I intend to. Dr. R if you read this, please respond! P.S. Since I will surely have this surgery overwith by the first of next year, I am still considering wishing for a belly ring for my 40th birthday! (That's only 3 years!) HaHa!!
Guest guest
Please don't worry so much about your hair, its not like kimo, it doesn't all fall out. (Idon't think, anyway, help here post-ops..???) I'm a retired hairdresser, and I remember when ever one of my clients went on some severe diet, their hair became quite a bit thinner, and I even noticed more comming out in my brush or comb. Not in hand-fulls. Just as soon as they adjusted to the new diet, or when they went back to eating the old way, the hair became thicker or it felt more normal. Just think, besides that, your hair was the prettiest thing about you, right? Now everything else is going to be pretty about you, and your hair will only be the frosting on the cake, so to speak. Think of all the years of dieting and wasted time you've went through. Now, isn't a little bit of hairloss worth winning the battle finally? Best Wishes, Trudy Bald or Fat? I guess it has always been my " security blanket " . Hi, I realized my hair was my security blanket too (down to my waist) so over a couple of months i cut it to almost like a cap above my ears, spiky and uneven with short bangs. Then I dyed it burgundy. I got so many compliments from the 'home boys' at work. Even though I think it makes my face look like a bowling ball they say it's 'stylin'. It was my pre-emptive strike against hair loss. I really like it, wash and go.... Also the condition of your hair is representative of your nutritional status. I would start eating good quality protein now and continue post op. It's the lack of protein that makes it fall out...and the stress. Hope this helps, in Denver, CO
Guest guest
I did just get mine cut also. It is now about 2 inches above my bra line. I wish I were as brave as you but the only time I had short hair I cryed for days after getting it cut. Of course it did make my face look round as a ball. Thanks for the info!! I start eating alot of protein! > > You know I have a little bit of a problem with the idea of loosing > > all of my hair.
