Guest guest
Elaine Gottschall recommended that we do both.... supplemental acidophilus AND the yogurt. She said this is what Dr. Haas instructed her to do. Patti probiotics vs. yogurt I was wondering if anybody can tell me which of the two should I prefer: Anya has been taking SCD home made yogurt but I notice that since we have been giving her SCDophilus, she does not eat yougurt. My question is should I forget the acidophilus or the yougurt? Thanks again. Anya 4 yrs. old UC diagnosed May 24th. 2006 SCD since May 28th. 2006 Meds. Mercaptopurine 25 mg., Prednisone 6 2/3 ml. Freeda's vitamin: 1/4 tablet
Guest guest
Hello to Anya's family, << I was wondering if anybody can tell me which of the two should I > prefer: Anya has been taking SCD home made yogurt but I notice that > since we have been giving her SCDophilus, she does not eat yougurt. > > My question is should I forget the acidophilus or the yougurt? >> If she will *only* take one then it would be better to take the yogurt. The yogurt has three great strains of bacteria. You will get higher numbers of good bacteria in the yogurt and because they are in a dairy product the bacteria can travel protected in the GI tract where they can do more healing and clearing out of harmful microbes.
