Guest guest
Hi everyone, It has been a while since I posted. My 10 year old has been on SCD, dairy-free, for almost a year now. So far, I have to say, the only changes we have seen have been a reduction in her stomach size. I am glad we tried it because it pushed me to introduce more fruits and vegetables. But, I just don't know if it is of benefit anymore for her. There is also the issue of protein toxicity. As much as I try filling her diet with more and more vegetables and some fruit, it continues to be too much protein for her body to handle. Despite the use of enzymes to aide in the digestion of protein, toxicity continues to be a problem (a genetic mutation is contributing to the protein toxicity issue). So, I am considering an introduction of whole grains (gluten-free), like brown rice to start. Please share your thoughts on this subject. I would very much like to hear other people's experiences and ideas. Thanks. Sincerely, Suzanne Reyes Woodland Hills, CA mother to Calida, 10 (SCD 11 months) and Olivia, 4 suzanne_reyes@...
