introducing - new to the group

Hi, I am new to the group. I found this group very helpful. My son ely is 6

months old. He is wearing a starband now for 3 weeks. He has mild plagio.. His

measurements were 6mm. The orthotist told me he would need to wear it for 2

months. Has anybody started to wear the band at this age with a mild case? How

quick did u see results? To what .mm did your baby graduate?

Hi Miriam,

My son stated to wear his doc band at 24 weeks and within four days we had to go back to cranial tech for the helmet to get shaved down. They didn't take any measurements but we don't go back until next Monday. I've been reading what other mothers have wrote and i feel it depends on how many growth spurts your child has and how long they keep it on in a 24 hour period. I read that one child at six months only had to wear it for 6 weeks. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Good luck!!

My son started his Starband at 6 months with 11mm and was down

to 0mm in 2.5 months. We kept in on another month to get his

cephalic index down a bit more. Overall it went from 94% to 86%.

It sounds reasonable that you could be done in 2 months. Good luck!
