Guest guest
Before iel really started communicating in the past month or so, I would do this. Introduce a new food. I'd actually give it to him for two or three days in a row even if I noticed a difference in behavior, bowels, ect. Then, I'd take it out for a good three days to a week. I'd put it back in his diet after the period of abstaining, and see if I saw the same reactions. I hope this helps. Guest guest
If you're brand new to the diet.... in the first few weeks.... we usually think " die-off " is the most likely. They're body's are going through BIG changes and dumping lots of toxins. Gotta be patient. We always advise adding just one new food at a time.... that way, you can clearly see if there is any adverse reaction to a particular food. But, all kinds of inner upheaval (sometimes literally!) can happen in those first few weeks. Patti Die off or foods? How does one know if a reaction from a non verbal ASD child is die off or a food reaction? Thanks, Michele
