Ellen,

Shana Tova!

The Long island List used to have a lot of kosher members and we do have a few.

Digestive Wellness makes some Kosher SCD prepared foods which are Kosher. I have

never

tried anything but the cookies so can't attest the quality but others have been

pleased. Just

be careful as not every food on their inventory is for beginners.

There should be no problem or conflict with keeping Kosher and doing SCD.

Although I do not now keep a kosher kitchen, I have kept one and loved doing

so.

Which probably makes me a little strange since keeping kosher can,

admittedly, be a pain at times. But, so can this diet. For that matter, so

can life - or, many things worth doing.

I do, and have, run many groups and would be more than happy to help you

set it up. Feel free to email me off list. jazzway@...

Also, I would be more than happy to work with you on recipes that are kosher

Although, just about any good kosher cookbook, minus the baking section,

would be good to use. As for the baked goods, I would love to work with you

on modifying whatever recipe you wanted to modify.

I would think that coconut milk, or any of the nut milks would work as a

good substitute. You might have to make it from scratch, but it should work

just the same.

BTW, happy New Year.

On the Digestive Wellness website, they have a gelatin made from fish that I

believe was kosher. Would regular gelatin be kosher if it did not include pork

products? Or is there something else about gelatin that is a problem?
