Guest guest
Hi out there, all you post-ops. I have been actively watching this site for a couple months now, and can not remember one person ever commenting on low blood sugar problems. I am pre-op; just waiting for insurance approval. Once gotten, I'll be going to Durham on the first thing smokin'! Anyway, I have to eat sufficient protein right now to avoid having hypoglycemic events. My question is, have any of you suffered from this prior to surgery and are you able to eat enough after surgery to avoid those bad feelings when the sugar plummets? Or perhaps it just doesn't plummet anymore? And Dr. R, if you're reading this, what do you say about the effect this surgery has on hypoglycemia? (If it stops Mr. Diabetes dead in his tracks, I can't imagine that Cousin Hypo could still be hanging around.) Thanks, everyone. Y'all are the best!!! Guest guest
I would ask Dr. R. directly, because i have seen one of the two dumping syndrome scenarios described as a hypoglycemic effect after more than usual sugar intake (?) That doesn't mean that surgery over all wouldn't be helpful. I don't know. It is an interesting question. Laurie 9/20/00 319/295/150 > Hi out there, all you post-ops.
