The behavioral issues could be die off. I always prefer to do an intro if I'm kind of uncertain though. It would be a good time to pull the supplements, and you can reintroduce the other foods much more quickly because he's already had them...maybe one each day. I agree with Patty in pulling the peanutbutter. We had some issues due to the peanutbutter about six weeks into the diet. We waited a couple of months, and it was no problem.
