Guest guest
Christian does and we have mentioned it to the doctors but they don't seem to be impressed. Guest guest
Tina, regarding Christian, one could try for an appointment or referral to a pediatric arthritis specialist or rheumatologist or both--this constant advocacy role IS somewhat wearing, however! Love to you and to yours, n Rojas Rojas591@... Re: Re: Advice on Antibiotics > Christian does and we have mentioned it to the doctors but they don't seem to > be impressed. Guest guest
Same with my son! When he was 4 he was briefly on Cipro for a lung infection and got such bad joint pain (it's commonly referred to as an arthritic reaction) that he couldn't even get out of bed. So he's considered to be " allergic " and isn't supposed to have it again. Cipro isn't labeled for anyone under 10, but they seem to use it anyway for CF kids. Guest guest
Well, has been on cipro and Tobi now for a week. It has been really difficult trying to figure out a viable schedule for all of these treatments without feeling like she is hooked up to a machine all day. We have not had any side effects, other than a mild bout of diarrhea for a day, from the cipro. I am a little bit surprised about being on Tobi for 3 months straight. According to the Tobi directions, it should not be taken for more than 28 days in a row. Or pehaps I am misunderstanding and by 3 months you mean 28 on 28 off and then 28 on, that could equal 3 months ( I'm an english major, not a math major!) uses the face mask with the tobi. I know it is not as effective as using the mouth piece, but it tastes so nasty, so thats a battle I would rather not fight, as long as I win the war and she does her treatments. Speaking of treatments, its time for pulmozyme Everyone take care, e, mom to 10 wcf and Ian 13 nocf
Guest guest
They're doing three straight months to aggressively treat the PA. As it is her first culture of it. The pulm. and the cf clinic agreed that this was a good way to battle it. When I read the insert I too questioned it, but they assure me that it is okay and that it is proven safe and effective.
