Guest guest
So, I had dinner with my father tonight - He is such an interesting human being - devastatingly handsome Italian - Who adores the ground I walk on BUT has NO CLUE as to " how this happened to me " He is so sweet in his innocence but his response to my surgery has been fascinating - He wants me to have " My jaw wired shut " and even took it upon his busy little self to see a Dentist about it. The Dentist basically threw him out-my fathers response -? ....Wrong dentist - Anyway I finally won this argument (I hope) by reminding him of my last liquid diet. Oh yes, me and dear old Oprah and Medifast - 75 pounds off - 150 pounds on. His last road block comes from his weight trainer. Now this guy is something -- about 50 feet tall -- shoulders just as wide -- chest like a mountain -- pea head and thighs that are permanently glued together-you can imagine -- well HE says, " She (meaning me) will just stretch that stomach right back out " Well, I know this could happen with the RNY and about 6-10 years of really over doing it - but how about the MGB? Say - I just let myself go 2 years from now- ignore all the post op info and just starting pigging (and puking) and going at it-while I realize I would at the very least quit losing weight -- could I STRETCH out my new stomach and if so to what limit??? Guest guest
Debbie, I went to clinic today to check the whole deal out. I live in Raleigh so its easy for me. Dr. R explained that because he builds your new stomach from the upper curvature portion this is not expected to be a problem in his surgery because this part of the stomach is fairly rigid and not so inclined to " stretch " . Hope this helps quell your daddy's interest!!!
