Guest guest
Thank you Sheila, Patti, Kim, and Carol! Can you tell I am panicking? When you see your children come out of an autistic fog and start waking up to the world around (all thanks to this wonderful diet), it is a wonderful thing to witness. But when one of them starts to slip back into his own world again and show autistic type behaviors again, one can only be horrified! That is how I have felt watching this past week. Thanks so much for the advice. We are starting the starter diet today. If refuses to eat all day, I am not going to cave in and give him fruit or honey sweetened anything. He will drink the goat yogurt. So, he will get his probiotics. I also have the acidphilus capsules and will open up and add powder to the goat yogurt each day. They both love the goat yogurt, plain. So, that is a blessing! I am going to have to start both of them on breathing treatments witha nebulizer and levabuteral. Is there any thing to worry about with this? Do I need to up the acidophilus? Thanks again. I am going to try not to panic, but go back to basics. Guest guest
I'm relieved to know that you waited for a response before doing the OoO. I know, first hand, that seeing regression in one's child regress will result in an eruption of panic. We don't deal with autism on our house but celiac and all of it's drawbacks (and more). In our case, going back to basics has always been the answer... and even though we're grads... we still fall back to basics when someone seems to be 'contaminated', 'dying off' or 'out of sorts'. It's the perfect tool for getting back on track. I've read, many times here, about children who don't do well and regress for a time. It seems that if the parents are willing to stick it out, that many of them do improve again. I know, from my oregano tea experience, it was like having the flu and my head was brain-foggy and it was hard to concentrate. And I don't have any 'health issues'. So, considering the fact that I am in good health and still have die off issues like I do, makes me think that, esp. for children, slow and steady may be the way to go. I'll be thinking of you. Kind regards, KimS celiac family, SCD 2003-2004
