Car Talk

n: I talk to our Volvo.I say " hej " when I get in and if it starts

I say " tak! " As I don't know any Japanese, there's nothing I can say to

our Subaru. Banzai.maybe? Hal

I have discovered that it is entertaining, distracting, and anxiety-reducing

to refer to myself, my body, that is, as a car in discussing things with

my doctors: i.e. " I need an oil change! " brings universal laughter, regard

less of what it really referrs to, thus making the whole medical stuff more

bearable.

On the other hand, my auto-maintencance chap refers to my car as if

it were his patient, telling me: " Well her fluids are fine, but I would con

sider a replacement of that battery, but all in all, she's doing well! "

I had best quit before we get off topic totally here; my kid wcf used to

go to the paediatrician and say " I think I need an oil sample, " and laugh

self sick--I guess that is where I got the idea in the first place.

Ricidulously, as usual,

n, with love to all at cfparents; may we all have a safe New Year's Eve.!
