I have all the symptoms of chronic pancreatitis -- the pain in my

abdomen and back, steattorhea, nausea, weakness, fatigue -- but the

doctors have never seen any physical damage to support the diagnosis.

I've never had elevated enzymes, either. I live in the grey area of

being very sick nearly every day of my life, but never having a firm

diagnosis. I'm still searching for the diagnosis, and I am in the

fourth year of that journey. In fact, I am once again bound for Duke

Medical Center to meet with the doctor. The PA I've talked with the

last couple of days said the sypmtoms sure sound like chronic

pancreatitis to her. I sure wish the medical community would figure

out a good test for CP. Tammy M.

-Right back at ya - I sure wish there was an easy way to tell if

someone's pain in definetly coming from the pancreas or not. I am

in the same boat as you are. Please let me know if you ever get a

diagnoses of CP and how exactly they come about it. I know from

what I have read on this board that every person's experience with

CP is different. If I didn't have pain meds at home I would spend

half my life in the ER. Actually I used to spend alot of time there

before my family phy gave me the pain meds. Hope you are feeling

better today.

Take care

PS where is Duke hospital??
