Guest guest
I have been having these severe attacks for 6 years now. I have SOD of both the biliary duct and the pancreatic duct. Now I also have celiac too. I have had numerous tests and have had 5 ERCP's now. My last one at Indiana Univ. I was hospitalized afterward with pancreatitis. I was actually relieved that my enzymes were elevated. I feel like I need all the documentation that I can get. I did make sure to tell the doctor that the pain from the post- procedure pancreatitis is the same pain that I get all the time. Only the pain level varies from day to day. I was also asked if I had CP from one of my many ER visits, from the doctor on call. I just looked at him and said I don't know. I have read that the GF diet is suppose to give relief of symptoms to people in approx. 2 weeks to 6 months time. It has only been 1 month for me, but I didn't have any celiac symptoms prior to my diagnoses, acccept for the mucous in the stool. I think my doctor is hoping that my symptoms were all from the celiac but I am still in pain very often. I feel like I am on pain meds more often than I am not. But I will take the docs advise and stay faithful to the diet and I am also keeping a diary of my pain. I printed out calendars and stapled them together. That way I can just hand it to him when the time comes. I also wanted to tell you that its perfectly ok to change doctors too. I have gone through a couple of specialists myself and finally found a wonderful doctor (Dr. Lehman). I received excellent care when I was there. Me and my husband were very impressed. Take care
