Guest guest
Hello, I was all set to get a Star Band. I had my appointment and everything. Turns out my insurance will only approve Hanger. I had to jump through a lot of hoops just to get this apporval. They aren't budging on this. I " m stuck with Hanger. Is Hanger considered an active or passive helmet? From what I can understand, it seems to work like the DOCband and Star Band. I have found some negative posts about skin irritation with a Hanger Band. What is everyones opinion/experience good or bad with Hanger? Thanks!
Guest guest
hi kristen, i dont understand all this because i actually got my STARband from a hanger orthotics building! my sons helmet is from orthoamerica, it has the star on the back of it and everything and it is working great! maybe you should talk to the doctors at the hanger place about all this and if worse comes to worse, if you really want the starband you will have to purchase it or even take the hanger band and feel lucky it got paid for. some insurance companies wont pay for ANY of the helmets! good luck with you and your little one! > > Hello, > I was all set to get a Star Band. Guest guest
An experienced ortho is the key. What hanger location would you be using? Maybe someone in the group is or has been there and can share their experience. We used a Hanger location in Missouri but they used a STARband at that location. Hanger is an active band.
