Hi All: Well, after waiting a week for results from an MRCP - the

gastro doc FINALLY called. He said he only sees mild dilation of

the biliary ducts and that he believes there is a " pressure "

problem, hence his referring me to the Lahey Clinic. Which, of

course, I had called because my appt itinerary said something about

seeing a doc of General Internal Medicine. So, he's looking into

that for me and will get back to me. He thinks possibly pressure in

the Sphincter of Oddi or the " ampulla " (am I to assume the ampulla

of Vater, which I've read about?)

Anyway, he said a shadow showed up on my liver but that was because

clips were left in???? I was worrying so much about the info on

pancreas that I didn't question if that was normal or not? I had

gall bladder surgery in February.......what does this clips thing

mean???

thanks in advance

Your question about clips: I had a major surgery in 2000 and they had

to leave a clip in me. I am suprized that they didn't do a XRay first.

I always thought that you could not do an MRI with metalic object in you?

If the tech is aware of the clip, they can adjust the settings as to

not cause problems, MRI's are done in emergent setting with people

who can not answer questions, and some times these people have

implanted metal, it is a benenfits out weight the risks type

question.
