Guest guest
A peg is a percutaneous (go thru skin) endoscopic (usually done with a scope) grastric (in the stomach) feeding tube. What I had was a gastric-jejunem (one tube inside the other) and I fed myself to the jejunum so it would be past the pancreas. I allowed my panc to rest and fattened me up for the surgery. On april 26 I had a beger procedure; surgical resection of the pancreas or part of. I had the head removed. They did not remove my duodenum and stuff like they do with a whipple. They just rearranged my duodenum and jejunum with my panc connected; sorry I forgot which one. Darn pain meds you know. lol I am trying to get stronger and getting frustrated. I am not the most patient of pantients. I am not tolerating food well, and haven't since the procedure. Being on a peg for 3 months must have some part in that. I am trying to make myself eat highly nutricious foods. This morning I had a small bowel of special K. It wasnt bad. I made some beans and rice last night, it was hard to swallow but I did. I dont mind loosing as I another 20 pound drop would really look good on me. I used to weigh almost 280 pounds and have lost well over 120 since this all started. Last october I had a transduodenal sphincteroplansty tht did not relieve my pain. Made matters worse. I went back to work for 3 weeks in January, but collapsed. They said I went acute, but i dont think so. Thats when they put in the peg and told me I will need a tp/ict. They told me I will still need that procedure eventually but the beger should buy me quite a bit of time. Gosh, I guess I wrote a book, sorry, did I answer your question. Its nice to meet you Cecilia. I hope you are doing well. Warmly, Chrissy > Chrissy - > > I am glad you are doing so well. Did I miss the post where you explained > what all was done in your surgery?
