Guest guest
Hi Jen, thats great that you have been feeling better lately. I hope it never ends. When are you giong to Toronto for the stent? Please dont get yourself all worried about what might happen if it doesn't work. Just focus on the fact that your doc is not going to put one in you if he doesn't think it will help. I have had several stents placed and I have ductal torotuosity. It has a bit of a loop to it I like to call the omega. some docs call this torutosity a form of divisum and some don't. Because of the loop, the stents would not migrate as they should and even though I had releif from pain. Since they did not migrate they just got clogged, which caused more damage. It got to the point that I demaded an exray after 3 weeks and if it was still in I wanted it pulled. the last stent I had placed in febuary helped the pain and migrated. Unfortunately it was too little too late for the head of my panc. But your young and your catching this early. Sometimes it takes several stents before the duct is finally stretched open enough and stays open for adequate drainage. I think that may be the route with you. Be patient, expect to feel terrible after the eercp, a lot of peopple have terrible bouts of pancreatitis. I never really did, I felt lousy but never a full blown attack after one. have enough of those anyway. I hope the doc will keep you over night afterwards just to keep an eye on you. If not, stay in town and make sure you can eat and tolerate a light breakfast before you head back home. It may take a couple of times, but stenting has worked. And like I said your young and dont have the same co-morbitities that some of us older gals have...ughh hate admitting that. I think you will do great with the stenting. Please let me know how it goes,ok. Warmly, > Hello everyone. Thanks again to everyone who responds. It's so > nice to talk to people who understand.
