Guest guest
Hi Effo! Welcome to our community! I had been living with less severe symptoms of RP for a few years before I had my first intense flare in December of this past year. I was diagnosed on the 10th of that month and saw that web site that you are referring to. I became a strict vegan immediately, wanting the pain to stop. Unfortunately, even after four months of strict adherence, I found that the diet did nothing to relieve my symptoms. What was even more amazing, was that when I quit following the diet and began introducing the other foods back, I had no ill effects. I don't know if what I went through is common, but I surveyed the folks on this site and didn't find much support for such a diet, either. But, it could work for you and I mean that sincerely. What has helped me the most, is sticking to my medication regime and being patient. This last few weeks I can honestly say that the medication level is really making a daily difference for me. I am at 22.5 mgs. of Methotrexate, 22.5 mgs. of the Prednisone a day and working to drop that lower. In addition, I take Indomethacine and Colchicine. Hang in there, the medication " fiddling " takes a while, but I hope that you will be seeing relief from your pain, soon. I'm glad you had such a fun night. I'm going to post a second message about my night last night, also. Take care! M
