Guest guest
Hello , I haven't had the procedures you mention but I'm sure others who have will tell you of their experiences. I do take Creon, however, although I have never had Pancrease. Creon comes in capsules filled with microspheres containing the enzymes. The Creon capsules come in three strengths, 10,000, 20,000 and 40,000. (The 40,000 ones may not be as common as the others because my chemist always has to order them in the morning or the day before whereas he always has the others in stock.) I have found Creon to be highly effective in controlling the symptoms of malabsorption (gas, diarrhoea etc.) and I also believe they have helped my overall pain severity and frequency. Obviously, every case is different. ONE WARNING! When I first started taking Creon I experienced a new sort of abdominal cramps, especially in the evening. I'm pretty sure it was the Creon which gave me them because they started exactly as I began taking the capsules. I have heard of others who had a similar reaction. At the time I was really worried because I thought it was the disease itself taking a turn for the worse. The cramps stopped after a time, maybe a month or so, and now I wouldn't be without Creon. Good luck with the new enzymes and with all the other procedures you have coming up. With good wishes, Fliss
