Your estrogen level (and other hormones) are out of whack. So when you lose weight, these places are still producing estrogen and you have too much. Thus, the Depo Provera shot and birth control pills, which rely on interrupting the normal balance of hormones, don't work -- they just make you nauseous and make many people vomit. (2) Did I mention they don't work (for birth control)? As long as you are losing weight, they are not reliable, so you have to use some other means of birth control.
