- Surgery 8 am Monday Sept. 25th (lasted 34 minutes)

- In my room by noon and walked to the bathroom at 12:30

- Used the morphine pump once every 30 minutes up till 9 pm and then

nothing but the Vioxx tablet every 4 hrs.

- No gas pain, no incision pain (just itching from the bandage

adhesive), no nausea, jello and broth and water went down ok

(just not very much),and pluming was working well!

- Walked the halls and visited everyone as much as I could.

- Discharged at 9:30, dropped in on 9 am clinic for a few minutes

and home by 12 noon (spent 1 hour going to different pharmacys in

Chapel Hill looking for Carafate....found 100 ml at CVS and they

had to order more)

- We stopped at Burger King for lunch for everyone else and I sat

at the table and the food didnot look appealing at all! Normally

fries would send me into an eating frenzy! This is weird!!

- Sleep sounder than I have in a long time and on my back (I have

always been a stomach sleeper)

- Removed my bandages this morning and everything looks good...

hardly any bleeding on bandages and the only bruise I can see

right now was caused by the bandage irritating the skin.

- I have been working on a 4 oz yogurt since 9 this morning....

maybe I'll finish by tonight! Wow, this is weird!

If anyone would like me to be their contact, just email me

(gdean1325@...) your questions and I will respond as

soon as I can! You can also reach me by phone at home

(I screen calls so let me know who you are).

Hope to see everyone at the picnic Saturday!

Gloria
