Guest guest
Well Jayden got his second helmet today. They decided to make the second helmet with a different foam in case he had an allergic reaction to the other one. I still have no answers as to why he broke out with those blisters/boils all over his head. He DID have an infection (the culture came back positive) BUT the docotor was stumped as to why it was ONLY on his head and nowhere else on his body. His ortho also said she talked to her collegues in Arizona and NOBODY has ever heard of such a thing. ( I guess she had even read some posts on here, I didnt know docotors looked at boards like this) So.. I'm sad we have no definate answers. I hope it doesnt happen again cause I want my sons brachy fixed asap. The other thing that I noticed today is the helmet is visibly bigger than the last one. When I commented his ortho said it was only a little bigger and that he did need room to grow and shouldnt be tight. I commented that I wanted to make sure he got his correction. It just makes no sense to me why they made the whole helmet bigger if they only needed a different foam. I dont want my son having to wear it for 5 months and then have no correction from it cause its too big. I mean I guess I did voice my concern but..what do I know right. I did double check ont the soap and water thing and she said that ALL her parents have been instructed to use baby soap and water and no one has had any problems. She did however instruct me to use just alcohol at this point just in case the soap had something to do with the issue. So...were back with the helmet. Please pray my son has no further issues. It would suck to be one of the few that insurance does cover and then not even be able to use it because of those blisters.
