Hi everyone,

I hope the holidat weekend went well for all (those that had

memorial day this weekend). It was non-stop rain and gloom for

us so maybe what I am going to ask the group is more related t

the weather than to the pancreatitis but......

I was given a prescription for a muscle relaxer (tizanidine) to act

in conjunction with the trigger point injections to get my

spasming muscles that are related to the pancreatitis to calm

down. I started taking the new meds last wednesday. I am

thinking that these meds are making my pain worse, as well as

my general overall feeling (no motivation, no appetite, just feel

very ickky). The drug precautions mentioned that it can elevate

liver function tests but said nothing about influencing the

pancreas. I want to discontinue the meds but am afraid that if I

do, the doc will see this as me being non-compliant and difficult

(I refuse to take neurontin or elavil because I had bad reactions

to these a few years ago).

Has anyone had any experience with muscle relaxers and your

pancreatitis?

Laurie
