I don't have a lot of experience, but my daughter just turned 6 mos. and has been in her doc band for 6 days now. I think the baby's reaction really depends on personality. My baby has a super laid-back, easygoing nature and has really not had any trouble adjusting to her helmet. I honestly would have been surprised if she had thrown fits over it. I think if my son had had a helmet at this age, he would have been freaked out -- just his nature. So far my daughter's sleep has really not been affected, but she was a good sleeper to start with. Once in a while she has trouble settling down for the night and cries a little more than usual to go to sleep. Sometimes she cries for a minute or two in the middle of a nap or in the night (which she didn't do before the band), but not enough to wake herself up or to cause me to go in to pick her up or anything. The only time I notice her seeming uncomfortable is

sometimes when I'm giving her a bottle, she really wiggles her head around as if she can't find the right spot on my arm to rest her neck comfortably. I just sit her up a little more to feed her when that happens. HTH Alisondanielleashery <danielleashery@...> wrote: My son is 6 months old and is being fitted for his Doc Band tomorrow. uncomfortable? Any insight or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

Good luck tomorrow! I just wanted to let you know I was in the same spot 9

weeks ago. When my daughter got her band (then 6.5 months) I was a mess about

how she would adjust. However, she did absolutely wonderfully! It never bothered

her one bit!! It took her a few nights to find a comfy sleeping position, but

that was it. I was so much more distressed then she ever was. SHe honestly never

cried or fussed once since the first day she had her band. SHe still had her

happy smily attitude! She also learned to roll over, scoot and crawl backwards

while wearing the band. Tomorrow we go back for hopefully our last

appointment!! Feel free to email me with any concerns, questions or even if you

just need support because I remember how anxious I felt before McKenna got her

band!! Good Luck- I bet he'll do great!!!

Mom to McKenna - 8 months old- 9 weeks in band
