Guest guest
I purchase " Zeigler's Old-fashioned Apple Cider " . That is the exact name. It was sitting in ice in the produce section. The ingredients are: apples, potassium sorbate, malic(apple)acid. Is this legal? I confess I do not know if it is legal. Guest guest
hi sue, im not sure if its legal because i am fairly new to scd and this group... but my daughter reacts terribly to the preservative 'potassium sorbate' even though it is naturally derived. her reactions are in the form of behaviour... it is not as bad as her reaction to benzoates but i would probably stay clear of it? roweena x mumma to audrey, 3 years Posted by: " sue " lslj@... sue8281 Fri Sep 15, 2006 7:49 pm (PST) I purchase " Zeigler's Old-fashioned Apple Cider " . Guest guest
You may need to pour a bit out of the container before freezing to allow for expansion during freezing. The place that i buy mine from already has it available frozen or refrigerated. I always ask for the frozen, and it is still frozen when I arrive home. I just pop it in the freezer. Whether you're buying it from a grocery store or a farm/orchard, I'd ask if they have any frozen already in the back. If not, just get the fresh. Take it home, pour out maybe a mug full or so. Put the lid back on, and pop it in the freezer. When I'm ready to thaw it, I just sit it on the counter until only about half is still frozen. Then, I sit it in the frig just like regular cider. That's it. Meleah Re: apple cider > How do you freeze apple cider? > > Thanks > Sue > SCD 6 mths, CC 25 yrs > > >
