Guest guest
I bought a yogurt maker and am going to get some of the ProGurt starter. I'm going to get some nut flours, also, as money permits (I have to order them online). I usually have eggs, fruit, and cheese on hand and fresh eggs and chicken (and fish, too). What else should I have on hand? Does the type of milk matter for the yogurt? I was going to use whole cow's milk (and maybe some cream). Is there any other equipment I should purchase? Is there a beginner's shopping list somewhere (I thought I might have seen one somewhere... maybe at the scdiet.org site)? The only thing that's throwing me for a loop is that I have been eating a lot of fresh salads. If I'm tolerating fresh veggies (lettuce, tomatoes, sometimes cucumber and apple), should I worry about switching to only cooked vegetables/fruit? I need to drink a lot during the day (I'm nursing two little ones). Is lemon water with saccharin ok? I've been using the Walmart brand of crystal-lite drink mix and I want to switch to something else because I won't drink enough with just water alone. I do have a lot of peppermint tea... I can start with that too. What cookbooks are a must have besides the ones listed in the newbie recipes file? Is the cookbook for kids worth having (cookign to heal little tummies)? I'm anxious to get the yogurt maker and starter. My nurslings and I are all fighting candida. It really affects the baby . We've been through a round of diflucan and I think we need it again. Will the yogurt calm this down? I was taking Primal Defense probiotic and stopped it because it was on the illegal list (somethign to do with the type of organisms in it) so was Culturelle that I was using for the baby so now I don't know what to do. I only have so much $ to spend on getting my supplements switched over. Christa
