Guest guest
We have had our son on SCD for two weeks now. I just read the section on Pecanbread about reactions, and I feel better. I was just about to post a question about his behavior. We are seeing more hyperactivity, verbal stimming, less focus, some old OCD behaviors like opening and closing cabinets, pushing buttons over and over, covering his ears, and the past couple of days being very emotional and throwing little fits when he is taken away from a stimming activity. On the other side of this we are seeing improvements in his bowel issues. Up until we started SCD we were having to give him high doses of magnesium citrate and vitamin C to get his stool to be almost liquid so he would have a bm. If we didn't, he would go days and days without going. Since we started we don't have to give the vitamin C, and I didn't even give him the mag cit today and he had a bm that was definitely more solid (not perfect, but no a total liquid blow out like usual). Because of the behaviors, I was getting nervous that he might be reacting to something he is eating, but I think he may be just having die off and issues because of the changes going on. If someone thinks something else is happening, please let me know what you think. I'm going to keep on doing what I've been doing and hopefully continue to see improved bowels.
