Guest guest
, I understand your frustration. Surely the idea of losing weight rapidly and permanently is a major selling point for the MGB. I do have one suggestion. You mentioned that your goal weight is 114. I would suggest that you go to a local facility, gym,Y, or somewhere like that and have them do a body fat analysis. You might find that 114 is not your goal weight after all. Depending on how much body fat you have. I always thought that I should weigh around 135, however, after having a body fat analysis, I was told that my goal weight, with 22% body fat would be.....206. I know.......hard to believe, but at the time I was exercising and had a lot of muscle. I hope now to get down to around 175-180. Your goal weight may not be so low as 114, and you may be closer that you think. I know that you are still frustrated by the rate of your weight loss and that you said you are gaining if you don't eat below 700 calories is well, in a word, sickening. I would like to say that I'm sure there is an answer, of course, I am not sure, but I do understand your feelings, I would feel the same way. To go through the procedure and then to have less than acceptable results would seemingly drive one mad. However, I would still suggest you check that body fat. You may be surprised and see that you aren't as far away as you thought. I want you to get an answer as to why this is happening, if there is one. Hang in there. You have been such a force to this group and a tremendous help to so many fighting their insurance companies. People love you for your help, . Go ahead and rant. Guest guest
Hi -- Not a bad idea. I did that back before surgery and the recommendation was 128-134. I've been 114 before and that's the weight I like best, but I would settle for 125-130. That's still 87 pounds off, though. 114 would give me a 10 pound " comfort zone " and that is where I was for a long time of my life, size-wise, so I am going to shoot for that. I think if I get to the 125 range, my body would go on to the 114 because it was a " set point. " I had another " set point " at 134 so it will be a bear to get off that one, I'm sure (assuming I ever get there. Sigh). But I do have small bones and a lot of fat. > , > I understand your frustration. Surely the idea of losing weight rapidly and > permanently is a major selling point for the MGB.
