Hi ,

My son was five months when he got his first DocBand Helmet. My son also had the same problem. He had flamming red spots on his head and we had to keep it off for hours until it went away. I kept calling CT and the clinician we were working with had us come in after four days of having the helmet. We did not let him sleep with it on during those five days. Once the clinician saw my son and his red spots they shaved it down. However, once we got him home we did the three hour checks and we were still having the same problem. To make a long story short, CT had to make him a new helmet that was hand made by the owner and not down by the machines. We wasted a whole month, however; his new band has been fine and he's been wearing it for almost three weeks now. I hope this helps and I would keep on CT if things don't improve. Good Luck!!

Good evening parents! I'm new to the plagio world, my 5 mos old son recently got a Doc Band, by the 3rd day he already developed an irritation on different parts of his scalp. The Cranial Tech Clinician recommended Hydrocortizone & to remove the band till it healed completely then start again from scratch-skin checks every 3 hours, etc. Well bottom line is it's been 2 weeks & he has yet to wear the band an entire day because his scalp continues to become so red. Has anyone else experienced this & perhaps have some advice / tips / tricks? After all that we went through to get this helmet I'm so afraid he's going to outgrow it before it even has a chance to make a difference. All the best to everyone, ToledoMiami, FL

Is he having a staph infection? I've heard that happen once or twice but it wasn't with a DOC band. You might want to have him checked out.
