I found great success with United Health Care

Children’s foundation. Not sure if that is what you are referring to. My

app was accepted by them and it seems like a fairly cut and dry deal. They pay

the 20% I would be responsible for, and my insurance company is paying their

80%. I was so thrilled to hear about that company; as a single mom, I do good just to make ends meet, no way could I

come up with the 1,000.00 that would have been my responsibility for the DOC

band.

Subject: DOC band and

United Healthcare

Hi. I am new to the group and was wondering if there

is anyone here that has any experience with dealing with United Healthcare and

CT to receive reimbursement? Our son is getting banded next week and we are

paying out of pocket, and I want to gather as much information as possible to

present to the insurance company. If you have actually been reimbursed, please

give me some advice.

Thank you

I have United Healthcare and I am going through the appeal process as well and

we also paid out of pocket. I was told if they denied it twice then it would be

smart to proceed with a letter of appeal to your plan administer (human resource

plan administer) from the job you get your insurance from to write an exemption

to the exclusion of cranial molding. HR departments can make individual changes

to a certain policies without it affecting you except ALLOWING you to include

cranial molding, which then you would automatically get it covered. That's our

plan if we don't win the appeal, but my HR lady also said that if the standard

deviation is above or below 2 then that should qualify us and my daughters is

almost 7. I can't remember what that standard deviation represents though-

cranial index? Hope that helped somewhat. Let me know if you win your appeal

then I may need advice from you! Good luck!
