Guest guest
These are both legal, but should not be tried until well into the healing stage. I believe scd protocall says six months, but we did try that at five months with no problems here in our house. Please make sure to prepare them as directed in BTVC. All dried beans, lentels, ect. must be properly soaked, drained, and cooked. You can check the BTVC web site for legal and illegal foods. Just click on the " legal list " . It is a very extensive list. Guest guest
Hi Anita, I can give you advice on the celiac question. Celiac is always possible. Sometimes this " failure to thrive " is only obvious to doctors when you have severe, end stage damage from the disease...sometimes there is no obvious digestive symptoms and you are very damaged and don't know it. (my husband was diagnosed 3 years ago with celiac.....he had no classical symptoms ..he was tested because of the kids...he has neurolgical and bone damaged..) You as a mom know if your child is not thriving... Both my children did not fit their " failure to thrive " category. They told me my children looked healthy too! I was told that even if their Dad had celiac they didn't. And they have had severe digestive symptoms..and many more symptoms that something was seriously wrong. >Gluten was causing severe OCD and ADHD with my son...His father had ADHD as a child. I am sure there is info. on the net showing how seizures can sometimes be related to gluten. Guest guest
Anita, CONGRATS on the trophies!! Feel like having them bronzed, don't you? That's wonderful news..... and yes, I think it certainly DOES mean you're on the right track. Yes, as Meleah said, the lentils and split peas are legal.... but not for beginners. When you try them, I'd say try red/pink lentils first.... those are the same as the regular, common greenish-brown lentils, but they are de-hulled so there is less indigestible stuff to deal with. They cook quicker and are easier to digest. Patti Fab BMs and celiacs question Hi All To my absolute amazement and joy Jack has done his first solid poo - and did a repeat performance too!
