Do you regret the Doc band?

We have recently been told by our pediatrician that our baby who is 4

months old should get the Doc Band. We feel conflicted and are

wondering if any of you ever regretted doing the Doc Band. We've been

told by another ped that the child's head will form normally by the

time he's two without it, while our current ped told us to get the Doc

Band.

Any advice?

I'm going to be blunt here and say straight out, get the DOCBand. I

had three doctors (one a neurosurgeon) tell me that my son's head

would round out by the time he was 2 as well, and that didn't happen.

We finally banded him at 17 months old (before it was really too late)

and even after 2 bands, his head is still not " perfect " (which we

didn't want it to be, but it definitely hasn't " rounded out " on it's

own either). The only regret I have is not getting the band sooner.

Sorry, the whole " it will round out " argument from doctors is kind of

a sore spot for me. Good luck with your decision!

i can tell you that my son was not 100% corrected after the docband. he went from 15,15 and 17 mm assymetry (severe plagio) to 4,5, and 6 mm assymetry (mild plagio/normal) but we did not opt for a 2nd band to get " perfect " and he is over 2 now and the rest did not correct on its own so i dont believe the idea that it will

Definately get the DOC Band. It can only help! My twins have been in

theirs since 12/5, and I actually kept it off that evening, so

technically, 12/6. I can see change in shape ALREADY. I am so happy

with my decision to do this NOW. My twins will be 5 mos on 12/19.

Because they are growing at such a fast rate right now, I'm glad that

I'm getting them treatment for their plagio instead of " waiting for it

to work itself out " (which will NOT happen). Good luck with

everything. Don't be intimidated by the band either. I was so scared

I was going to hurt them the first time I put it on and took it off,

but I did great and so did my son and daughter. They're totally used

to the routine after just a week :)
