Dr R's Presentation to ASBS

Hi.

Having now looked at Dr. R's PowerPoint presentation to ASBS last

June, I understand the hostility he encountered. Very simply, the

presentation was not as impressive as his paper (which I think is

very impressive), and does not describe the operation in the sort of

detail available on his website. It was, perhaps, the wrong sort of

presentation for that audience and a rare lapse of marketing on Dr.

R's part. (I'm an attorney and, maybe because of my lack of medical

training, I would have been very skeptical if that were my only

explanation of the procedure.)

But marketing is just marketing. I'm still deciding whether I want

to have the MGB and am asking doctors I trust to look at the

Alvarado/Lindstrom-Rutledge debate (as well as examine the materials

on Dr. R's website) and give me their considered opinion. At the

moment I'm still leaning heavily in favor of having the procedure.
