Guest guest
Hi , I read your post about 's new chiropractic experience and even visited the practitioner's website. I am so glad that it went well and that was comfortable. I had never heard of the scanning before and I am so tempted to pay them a visit just to see what they would have to say about Maysa. The back of her head is stil asymmetrical a tiny bit and I wonder. Maysa also does these stretches every now and then and nobody can tell us why. She stiffens and crosses her legs and arms and breathes hard but then stops if you try and get her attention. We've already ruled out seizures, but I wonder why she does that. Could she be stuck somewhere? Anyway, thanks for sharing and hope it all works out for her. Guest guest
Hi Leila, I'd read about Maysa's stress moves on your blog and how they ruled out seizures. According to the information that I've gotten, many babies have some sort of trauma from the birthing process. Just the normal twisting to get them out can cause things to become misaligned. Dr. Jen says that she believes that all babies should have their spines checked. Maysa had reflux when she was younger, correct? I'm not sure that anyone could say that all cases are caused by this, but it does indicate that something with the digestive systems was not working ideally. I wish that I had investigated this chiro stuff when I first joined the older plagio group. I would have liked to have had her in this treatment at the same time as her helmet. Plus, we might actually be done with the Prevacid by now. You should know that Dr. Jen says that she's not sure whether we'll get any additional improvement in the head since we have already done CST, but she seems more sure about her digestive issues so we are going ahead with treatment. does have misalignment in the area the joins to the head so it is possible. It all depends upon whether the misalignment in that area is what is instrumental in not completely rounding out. So, it's the same thing that I hear about the CST. It all depends upon whether she has any sutures that are "stuck" that are causing her head to not completely round out. The way I understand it is that the CST and the chiro can only make conditions ideal for the head to be round, but there's no way to be sure that this will happen. It's not like the helmet, where things are forcing the head to be shaped a certain way. But the bottom line is that nothing else is going to improve her head at this point and these treatments can't do any harm. If her head does round out, I may never know whether it would have anyway due to natural growth, but I don't have time to wait around and see. Plus, it looks like we're going to get other benefits from the treatments. And we're getting a discount so the decision is really a no brainer. And, with Maysa's stress moves, they may not be able to answer whether they are related to misalignments, but they could tell you what misalignments she has and what areas they affect. And, if there is a misalignment in the head area, it's also possible that there could be more improvement there as well. They are recommending 3 times a week for 's treatment because her misalignments are so severe. She's anticipating 3 months of this and then it will drop down to less, depending upon how much improvement there is. I don't know what they would end up recommending for Maysa, but that kind of frequency would probably be hard for you because you are further away. They do offer free consultations. When I first called, they even offerred to have Dr. Jen call me back to discuss 's case before I made the appointment. Instead, I decided just to go for the free consult. The scan was only 25 dollars, but I'm not sure if that was a discounted price because they are out of network for our insurance. In any case, at the very least, you could call and talk to her and maybe even come in for the scan. Or, she may be able to give you the name of someone closer to you. The way I see it is that when conventional medicine can't help, look to the alternative medicine. So, since the conventional doctors can't answer why Maysa does her moves, I don't see that you have anything to lose by at least calling or coming in for the scan. Let me know what you decide.
