Guest guest
I can agree with this statement! We took my son out in his STARband all the time. We continued our lives normally with or without his headgear I wasnt prepared to sit at home all day! Anyways, we had LOTS of people come over and say that this person or that person they knew had a son/daughter who wore a helmet. Lots of people looked, but we just smiled back and kept about our business. I decided they were just looked at the cute little baby and continued my day. I never had a weird look or bad comment from anyone. In my opinion, I think plagio/brachy is completely left out in the cold. I have read every baby/parenting book there is and not a single one even mentions this condition. Im convinced its because the AAP is afraid it will out do all their efforts to get us to put our kids " Back to Sleep " . I think that having our children out and showing the world that these helmet head kids are normal kids with a bit of construction needed to make the perfect may help just one more child get the help they need to prevent a lifetime of a deformity. .... steps off the soapbox... Remember guys your babies dont know they are different. Dont deprive them a normal life for the next weeks/months because of a silly helmet. The first few times will be hard on you, you will be nervous and you will be anxious- but just DO IT! And you can always wear your bike helmet to match!! Guest guest
I agree too! It's a great conversation starter! Our little guy just goes about his business being cute and doesn't care that he looks like America's smallest astronaut. Just keep a positive attitude and you'll find people will respond accordingly. -Ally > > I can agree with this statement! > > We took my son out in his STARband all the time. Guest guest
Great post, Jannabelle. I totally agree with everything you said and you raised the very important point that it's great for us to have our helmeted babies out in public letting other parents know that this is becoming a very common condition. I actually loved it when strangers would just ask me why my son was wearing a helmet. All that staring and wondering -- so useless! > > I can agree with this statement! > > We took my son out in his STARband all the time.
