Guest guest
Deanna, I have not been diagnosed as being diabetic but I'm getting a hunch that I may indeed have developed the disease. I've been getting a couple of classic symptoms over the past few months. Each of the symptoms taken separately can be explained away, but taken together, they raise a serious question. Also, on my father's side of my family I can trace diabetes back to my great-grandfather who brought the disease with him as a little bundle of joy when he immegrated from Germany in the early 1880's. It has popped up in every generation since; most recently in one of my cousins who was diagnosed with diabetes last summer. To make things a little more interesting, my maternal grandmother also had the disease. The laws of genetics being what they are, the deck is stacked in the wrong direction. I have doctor's appointments next week where I intend to ask for a glucose test. In spite of my pancreatitis, I don't think a diabetes check has been made recently. If that test comes back positive, it might explain a number of things including the sore gums and teeth and, depending on the type of diabetes, perhaps even the pancreatitis itself. Jim > Hi again!
