Guest guest
Dear migrant health colleagues, Are you from a community group or community-institutional partnership in the U.S. involved in research? We are writing to let you know about an important national study we're involved in and to invite your participation! Community-Campus Partnerships for Health and the University of New England are conducting a study of community-based processes for research ethics review. Essentially, we are interested in learning more about how community groups and community-institutional partnerships decide what research to support, conduct or participate in. The findings will be used to help build the capacity of community groups and partnerships to conduct research that makes a difference in their communities. They will also be shared with institution-based institutional review boards (IRBs) in the hopes of addressing the concerns that community considerations are often overlooked in their reviews of research proposals. One product of the study will be an online repository of forms, policies and other documents used by community groups and partnerships to make decisions about what research they get involved in. We are in the process of identifying US-based community groups and community-institutional partnerships involved in research to invite to participate in the study. Participation involves about 30 minutes to complete an online survey. Ideally, the person completing the survey would be the one most closely involved in the group/partnership's research activities. If you would like to be invited to participate in the study, please email your contact information to cbresearch@... as soon as possible and no later than May 2! If you're not the right person to complete the survey, please forward this email to the person who is. And please feel free to forward this email to others who may be interested. We look forward to sharing the study findings with you later this year. They will be posteed on the CCPH website at www.ccph.info. For more information about the study, visit http://depts.washington.edu/ccph/researchprojects.html or contact the study team at cbresearch@... Thanks!
