Guest guest
Hello, I have been reading all the messages on this board and have visited www.fourlane.com both sites are great. Thanks for your web page. It's great and helped me make my final decision. I am so tired of carry an extra 120 pounds with me every where I go. My job as a nurse requires me to be on my feet all the time and at night I pay for it. I am just getting started with my paperwork and really need help getting the connections. I have already filled out the on-line application and have started on my 10 page letter. I know I still have alot to do. I have already received approval from my insurance company BCBS of FL but it was for the other procedure (the major surgery)but that was before my friend Dinah told me about Dr. Rutlegde. I hope it will be just as easy to get with the MGB? Does he require a pap smear for someone who has had a hysterectomy? How long does it take to get all your paperwork together get it mailed in and get a surgery date? Is it silly to think I can have the MGB done the first week of October? I appreciate any help or advance you can give me. My email address is traciebt@.... Thanks, Tracie
Guest guest
Tracie, I am still preop but have had my packet approved. I had a supracervical hysterectomy 5 years ago and, because I still have a cervix and ovaries, he still required a PAP. I don't know if it is a total hysterectomy. I sent my packet in on a Tuesday and got approval the next Thursday. (That was the good news. The bad news was that I got denied from my insurance company the same date....that's a whole 'nother story.) When Barbara e-mailed me that I had been approved she asked me to supply three or four days that were workable. I about crapped my pants when one of the days was Clinic on the 26th, yes of September. Surgery on Sept 28 and post op clinic on Oct 3. (Haven't heard back which one of my choices they scheduled since I just got that e-mail late this pm.) So, in answer to your question, is may be realistic to think of early October. Best of luck. Guest guest
Tarri, Thanks for getting back to me this quick. I had a complete TAH 4 years ago. I have no nothing. What are you going to do to get approval? That would drive me crazy. What do we pay insurance for? My friend Dinah ran into the same thing and some on this message board an attorney is helping out she is writing letters and making phone calls on your behalf to get approval. Dinah is on the message board she is post op 8-16-00. Dinah Boatwright maybe she can give you some information on how hers got worked out. I'll keep my ears open. What part of Missiouri are you from? Are you going to fly or drive? If flying go to wwwdotairtrandotcom you can get real low rates. My flight leaving Ft Walton Beach to Raleigh NC will cost $70.00 each way. Not bad compared to others.
