So sorry to hear this news. It is so discouraging to spend so much money

and all the emotional ups and downs and still not reach the objective. Keep

your thoughts positive and the right answer will come. My heart goes out to

you and your husband.

IVF didn't work

I was going In Vitro with PGD to avoid CF. I just found out this

mroning that I am not pregnant. We don't know what to do next. We

already spent $15,000 on this so we have nowhere to go. Adoption is

often just as expensive. thanks for your support.

Hi Jen,

I am very saddened to hear that. But please anyone tell me why adoption is

often just as expensive?? Here in Germany adoption requires more paperwork

than a tax declaration and you have to answer 1,000 questions from CPS, but

I am not aware that you have to pay for it. There are so many orphans in

poor countries that everyone should be thankful for parents who offer a home

and love to one of those children.

Peace

The legal fees make it so pricey. It also involves a lot of

paperwork here in the states.

VERY well said Torsten. I really cant understand the reason for the high

cost. After all , the adopting parents are saving the state or country the

cost of raising the child & will continue to do so all the child's life.

Really, a background check, etc YES, but heaven s, why soooo much $$$ .

I hope this post finds you & your precious growing family are well .

happy fall to you all

To be sure you get a child many people do foreign adoptions which at

minimum cost $10,000. Trying to adopt through social services can be

done but you may have to wait as long a 10-15 years. The demand for

young children to adopt out strips the available supply in the US

I'm really sorry things didn't work out for you. There are cheaper adoption

routes though. Consider adopting a child from your local foster parents

organization. I know in Texas, the state usually covers the cost of the

adoption.

Hi Jen,

I am so sorry that this didn't work for you. I have a friend who tried IVF a

few times and it never worked for her either. I am very sorry, I know that you

had high hopes for the procedure.

I am so sorry to hear that. We also failed at our PGD attempt a few

years ago. We would like to adopt also but here there are very few

children available and overseas is nearly $30,000. I don't know why as

so many people would love to do this. Your in my thoughts.
